Case Study - Nutrition
Forward to a Friend
This piece is my own, personal story (Ann Kramer). It was through this piece that I would get the impetus for eventually building the Life Puzzle model. For you see, I was a junk food junkie—and yet, I was so unaware of how my body and mind worked, I didn’t think there was any problem with the foods I ate because I only weighed 100 lbs.
I lived under the belief that if you’re thin—you’re fine! But truth was, while I only weighed 100lbs, I was sick constantly with headaches and intestinal problems galore. But the worst for me was the bouts of depression—serious enough to send me to bed for 3 days a month!
By a fluke set of events, a friend of mine turned me on to good nutrition. At first I thought she was nuts, but to humor her, little by little I changed my diet. As I did, I didn’t lose a single pound but lo and behold, my headaches went away, my intestinal problems cleared up and my depression was gone! I was totally amazed that nutrition choices could be that important to my life (puzzle) but they were.
As my health improved dramatically, I also got mad! Why hadn’t anyone taught me this!!!!! But then I asked another question—if I didn’t know the value of good nutrition to power my life, what else might I need to know if I was truly going to create a life that was as fully vibrant and whole as I might desire? Thus did the other 15 pieces of the Life Puzzle come together. It was obvious to me that nutrition impacted many other areas of my life—for as I ate better I was better able to manage my feelings, I was a more creative thinker, I was a better communicator and more able to have healthy relationships, work more effectively etc. Even though I started with nutrition, I discovered, as will you that; Every piece truly impacts the whole!
